| Have been a Permanaent Resident for the past 5 years and have no special circumstance. |

| Have been continuously married to and living with a U.S. citizen for the past 3 years and your spouse has been a U.S. citizen during that eriod of time. |

Good Moral Character : |

|
Committing certain crimes could cause you to become totally ineligible for naturalization. Aggraveated felonies (committed on or after November 29, 1990) and murder are condsidered permanent bars to naturalization. |

English Requirements : |

Understanding of the English language, including an ability to read, write, and speak. |

Exceptions to these requirements : |

|
No English test if you are over 50 years old and have lived in the U.S.A. as a Permanent Resident for periods totaling at least 20 years. Need to take the civics test in the language of your choice.
No English test if you are over 55 years old and have lived in the U.S.A. as a Permanent Resident for periods totaling at least 15 years. Need to take the civics test in the language of your choice.
No English test if you are over 65 years old and have lived in the U.S.A. as a Permanent Resident for periods totaling at least 20 years. Need to take the civics test in the language of your choice.
Disability. If you have a physical or developmental disability or mental impairment, you may be eligible for an exception o th English and civics testing requirement.
